47-th CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL – OPENING NIGHT PRESENTATION

October 6, 2011, Chicago, IL, Kontinent Media attends 47th Chicago International Film Festival – Opening Night Presentation. The Festival kicked off with the red carper ceremony at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park. The main cast of featured movie “The Last Rites of Joe May” - starring Dennis Farina (“Get Shorty,” “Snatch,” “Law and Order”) was present along with his co-star and fellow Steppenwolf alum Gary Cole (“Office Space,” and “Pineapple Express”) along with writer and director Joe Maggio.

The Chicago International Film Festival aptly chose to screen this real life drama feature with Farina filmed in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood in late 2009 in association with Chicago’s Steppenwolf Films. The film stars Farina as an aging con man struggling to start his life over but comes to a realization that the best years of his life have passed him by.

Kontinent Media was invited to attend a VIP reception post screening of the feature. The reception took place at a beautiful Sidney Yates Gallery at the Chicago Cultural Center. Reception included top shelf liquor/cocktails and exquisite hors d’oeuvres. Leonard Mogul, market development director, remarked that “it was an honor to rub elbows with the film stars and prominent directors.
