Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Unveils The Holiday Visual Spectacle At Allstate Arena!

December 3, Rosemont, IL, Trans-Siberian Orchestra as part of their World Winter Tour with the timeless classic “Christmas Eve and Other Stories” took the stage at a virtually sold-out Allstate Arena. TSO has not only established itself as one of the top selling acts in the world, but has also become an annual “winter-season” tradition amassing an extensive following by its audience.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is an American progressive metal band founded in 1993 is known for their incorporation of classical, orchestral, symphonic, and progressive elements into rock and heavy metal music. TSO’s founded Paul O’Neill a producer, composer and lyricist built the band based on the artists he idolized - Emerson, Queen, The Who, hard rock bands such as Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin and multiple lead vocalists of the R & B groups, such as the Temptations. His vision was to create a band with the theatrical-show visuals, which proved to be quite successful. The final ingredient that helped him to propel his band to the forefront of all others was when he convinced the former members of Savage, Jon Oliva, Al Pitrelli and Robert Kinkel a keyboardist and co-producer to join the band.

The band is known for their elaborate concerts accompanied by orchestra, a massive light show, lasers, pyrotechnics, video screens and other effects making it a truly visual experience. TSO’s popularity seems to have no boundaries or age limit as some of their fans are as young as 8 year old. They have sold nearly 8 million concert tickets and 8.5 million albums. The Billboard Magazine and Pollstar ranked them as one of the top ten ticket selling bands in the first decade as well as the top 25 Touring Artists in the past decade.

TSO’s founded Paul O’Neill to the question how he came-up with the band’s name, said that “in the 1980’s I was fortunate enough to have visited Russia. If anyone has ever seen Siberia, it is incredibly beautiful but incredibly harsh and unforgiving as well.” He went on to talk about the Trans-Siberian Railway, which served as an inspiration for the name of his band. In 1994 the band’s first album was supposed to be a rock opera about the Bolshevik Revolution entitled “Romanov: When Kings Must Whisper.” The album, however, would not be mentioned again until 2010. On December of 2010 Paul O’Neill announced that the name of their new album will be “Romanov: When Kings Must Whisper.”

Trans-Siberian OrchestraTSO did not disappointer their audience with some of the crowd’s favorites such as “Oh Come – Holy Night,“ “A Mad Russian’s Christmas,” “Who I Am,” ”This Christmas Day,” “Christmas Eve,” “Promises To Keep,” and ”An Angel Returning,” to name a few. The overall atmosphere gave an impression of Christmas beginning early. The audience set on the edge of their seats awaiting the kind of spectacle that only could be unveiled at the TSO’s holiday concert.
